ICS 300 follows on from the ICS 200 course program. In ICS 300 you will learn how to apply advanced techniques to safely and effectively deal with escalating major incidents, including integration of additional external agencies and resource management.

This course will cover:

  1. Understanding of how the incident management, command and general management components support the response to major expanding incidents.
  2. Understanding of the incident/event management process for supervisors responding to expanding incidents.
  3. Implementation of the incident management process for a simulated Type 3 incident (table-top exercise).
  4. How to develop Incident Action Plans

 

Prerequisites:

  • ICS 100: Introduction to the Incident Command System
  • ICS 200: Basic Incident Command for Initial Response
  • Recommended: Experience using concepts and principles of ICS 100, ICS 200, in response or exercises.

This course is instructor lead, with 21 hours of contact time over 3 days. This included table-top assessment and final test.

The intended audience for this course are those individuals who may assume a supervisory role during an incident. Especially those identified to fulfil Command or General Staff positions.

Upon successful completion of this course, you will receive a PDF certificate of completion that you can download and print for your records.

This course contains a multiple-choice final assessment (75% pass mark) as well as a team table-top exercise (assessed by your instructor).
